Flood of support for Jabulani water tank

JABULANI Home for the Aged is R7,000 short of its fundraising target of R60,000 for two plastic drinking water tanks.

A number of donors have added to the coffers this week: R10,000 from Anonymous; R1,000 from Illovo Nursery; R1,000 from Pest-Aside Pest Control and R1,000 from Lindon Corporation. The Jabulani holiday raffle which closes on Friday, 25 October now stands at R9,200 and other sundry donations total R11,000.
“We are grateful to the community for their generous donations. It is heartening to see the community cares for the welfare of the aged,” said fundraising co-ordinators, Errol and Sharon-Ann Theron.
Some R60,000 has to be raised to replace three 30-year-old asbestos drinking water tanks on the roof with plastic jo-jo tanks.
Businesses and the public are urged to support. Any amount is welcome, but donations of R1,000 and more will be listed on the adjacent barometer until the target is reached. Funds can be deposited in the following account: Nedbank Limited, account name: KWOFTA, account number: 130-607-6390, branch code 130-627. The reference is ‘Water’.
