Man shot twice in W/Beach hijacking
A Toti man in his fifties was shot twice during a hijacking in Warner Beach on Wednesday night, 6 November.
Terry Lovegrove had stopped outside his sister’s house in Smythe Road at about 7.40pm when two men approached him.
According to his nephew, who did not wish to be named, a neighbour heard Terry say ‘there’s no need for a gun’ before two shots were fired.
The neighbour and Terry’s family heard the men flee in his white VW Polo and found him lying on the ground with gunshot wounds in his chest and abdomen.
“The SAP and CCPO responded very quickly,” said the nephew. “My uncle was stabilised at the scene before he was transported to KIngsway Hospital. He was operated on last night and is still in ICU.”
