Tree wrapping gains ground

Sapphire Coast Toti Tourism (SCTT) urges more local businesses, members of the public, community organisations and churches to get involved in wrapping trees over the festive season.

“Together we can make our town stand out, be different and leave a positive memory in the minds of our visitors,” said SCTT chairman, Jacques van Schalkwyk.

“It’s never going to be one thing that makes a change, but together with keeping our verges clean, being friendly to our visitors and ensuring we leave a positive impression in the minds of our visitors, will make a difference. We want to make this a fun project for all.

To date, Rehoboth Church, Sweetwaters Church, Toti Conservancy, Amanzimtoti Lions, Durban South Business Forum and Dafco paints have pledged their support for the project.

“There are many talented members of the public who can assist us in wrapping trees, so we encourage them to make contact with SCTT and help us make a difference.

With enough support, we could extend this project into Warner Beach, Winklespruit and Umkomaas.”
