Lions sponsor wheels for Shorty

“For the last 18 years, Shorty, as he is known to us, has been cycling to work and back home every day,” said president, Andy Nilsen. “Eventually the bicycle he was using started suffering metal fatigue and he pushed more than he rode.” That’s when the eThekwini South Lions Club stepped in.

“At the time, we could not find a bicycle locally and sent out a message to other clubs in our zone,” said Andy. “It only took one week for the Durban South Lions Club to locate a good condition second-hand bicycle and contact me.”

Within a few days Andy handed the bicycle over to a very delighted Shorty.
