Pie in the sky? Or valid attempt to address pollution?
A polluted Paris, France, is preparing for a partial ban on cars, in a bid to tackle dangerous air pollution levels.

While some residents split over whether it is likely to yield results or is even warranted, the alternate driving days will be implemented in the capital and 22 surrounding areas.
The restrictions will be enforced between 5.30am by some 700 police officers specifically deployed to man 60 checkpoints.
The city of Paris has made parking free on those days, and the city fathers have called on residents to consider carpooling or car-sharing to maximise trips.
