Learn to counsel those in crisis

AFRICA CARES for Life hosts a pregnancy crisis counselling training course from Tuesday to Friday, 8 to 11 July.
Although the course is based on pregnancy counselling, the seven fundamentals that will be focused on can be used in all types of counselling.
The seven fundamentals of Christian crisis counselling are: Speak the truth in love; be ministers not manipulators; everyone is sending out an SOS; the four qualities of an effective helper; the five communication skills; the six phases of a crisis and the six steps to crisis intervention.
The venue is Lionsgate Church, 24 Queens Terrace in Doonside. It starts at 8.30am and ends at 4.30pm. The trainer is Danielle Gradwell. The cost is R650 per person which includes a manual and refreshments, but take along your own, packed lunch. The course will enhance your counselling techniques and equip you to understand people in crisis.
