Councillor enlightens Toti WI

Jean Donkin and Cynthia de Lange gave members a quick demonstration on flower arrangements.

MELANIE Venske, president of the Amanzimtoti Women’s Institute, welcomed all members to August meeting held on Tuesday, 12 August, and bade a special welcome to visitor Linde Moerdyk, Corinne Stephenson’s sister.

Melanie opened the meeting with the preparations for the 79th birthday and prize-giving trophies celebration, which will be held on Tuesday, 9 September.

Members are reminded to take one plate of snacks each and two teacups and saucers. Members were pleasantly surprised by a visit from Andre Beetge, DA councillor.

As it was women’s month, the councillor introduced himself to the WI to assist with any queries of interest. Members asked questions ably responded to by Andre, which were most informative. He assured members that should they require any further information to not hesitate to contact his office.
