Be the change in a child’s life
Mother of Peace calls on the community to partner with them in utilising their time, gifts and talents in the investment of children.

AS the days begin to get a little longer and brighter, Mother of Peace in Illovo calls on the community to partner with them in utilising their time, gifts and talents in the investment of children, to brighten their lives and future.
The Spring campaign offers various ways in which individuals, companies, groups and families can be part of making a difference in a child’s life while improving and changing your own life. The campaign’s slogan ‘be the change’ encourages us all to access what we can do to bring about change in our lives and in the lives of those who are part of our society.
“Perhaps there is the misconception that doing good only helps another, but doing good helps the giver and recipient. It puts us on the path to personal growth and development. This is why it is so exciting to have some community members offering their service to raise funds and awareness. This will give our children, the future of our nation, a second chance in life. Thanks to Melanie van der Spuy and Cathy Colley for sowing this seed,” said general manager, Iris Canham.
Mother of Peace offers workshop and team building opportunities on personal growth, social investment and transformation to companies and an event calendar marks the community workshops and events. All workshops take place at 197 Old Mill Road, Lower Illovo. They’re kicking off with a free workshop titled Be the change: Steps to transformation on Saturday, 20 September from 10am to 11.30am.
This will be followed by a tie dyeing fundraiser workshop on Wednesday, 24 September hosted by Cathy of Kidazzle Mobile Studio. Entry is R50 plus two T-shirts, one for the participant and one for a child.
If you would like to be the change by either joining one of the workshops or offering your gifts and talents for fundraising and awareness opportunities, contact Iris on iris@motherofpeace.org.za or 031-916-2299.
