Doonside man critical after Midlands crash
His vehicle overturned and collided into an electricity pole.
A DOONSIDE man who sustained critical injuries in a crash in the Midlands on Monday, 8 September, is recovering in hospital.
“His vehicle left the roadway on the Eston Road in the Natal Midlands, overturned and collided into an electricity pole in a sugarcane field,” said Netcare 911 media liaison, Chris Botha.
Netcare paramedics found the man trapped in the twisted frame of his vehicle. “Medics clambered into the wreckage to stabilise him, while rescuers worked tirelessly to extricate him. After he was immobilised on a trauma board and stabilised by an advanced life support paramedic, he was airlifted to a hospital in Pietermaritzburg.”
The cause of the accident will be investigated by police.
