Shavathon supporters raise R30,000 for Cansa

Funds will go towards research, education and early detection.

YOUNG and old supported the annual CANSA Shavathon fundraiser held at Seadoone Mall, Galleria, Makro and Pick n Pay Arbour Crossing on Saturday, 28 February.

“The Shavathon was a great success at all the venues. Funds raised at the various centres amounted to R30,534.15,”said CANSA’s Diane Saunders.

Ward 97 councillor, Andre Beegte, eThekweni South Lions Club, Amanzimtoti Lions Club, Kingsburgh Lions Club, Amanzimtoti Rugby Club, Amanzimtoti Leos, Kingsway High pupils, Round Tablers, Freemasons lodges, various motorcycle clubs and volunteers helped CANSA officials with their ‘hair-raising’ task.

“We thank all those who supported us and volunteers who went the extra mile for CANSA. Everyone who came to the party of a very worthy cause. Funds raised will go towards cancer research, education and early detection,” said Diane.
