Walk along to light up Jabulani

Head down to Hutchison Park on Sunday, 14 June at 2pm.

JOIN in the walk in the park at Hutchison Park on Sunday, 14 June at 2pm to light up the homes and lives of Jabulani residents in Warner Beach.

“More cash donations will be appreciated to reach the target, to receive a bulk discount on rechargeable lights. About 120 lights are needed for 70 units, including stairwells and passages,” said Reena Solomon, who along with Neil Fabricius kickstarted Operation Jabulani Light a few weeks ago.

The fundraiser aims to keep Jabulani residents safe during load shedding.

Local businesses have been donating awesome lucky draw and raffle prizes. “Raffle tickets will be on sale at the ParkRun, the day before the walk in the park. ParkRun will also be a collection point for those who want to donate to the cause, but can’t make the walk on Sunday.” Raffle tickets will also be sold on the day.

So, get walking, as entry is free and walkers also stand a chance to win one of the many donated lucky draw prizes.

Drop-off points for donations are Power World and Pumps in Toti CBD and Pam Golding in Warner Beach.

Cash donations can be deposited in the following bank account: Nedbank; account name: KWOFTA; branch code: 198-765; account number: 205-704-9183. The reference is ‘Lights’. Email proof of payment to reenasol@mweb.co.za.
