Adams Road cleaners have free ticket

They'll continue shouting to one another - it sounds like a market place.

EDITOR – I was amazed when I watched the women who are supposed to clean Adams Road, Toti.

For the past three days, they get dropped off between 8am and 8.30am, then their yellow bags get spread out to sit on for breakfast and a long chat or snooze, reading the newspaper, cell phone in hand until after 11am.

Then they get up slowly, using their brooms as walking sticks and start sweeping with one hand. Don’t think for one moment their conversations end then. They’ll continue shouting to one another – it sounds like a market place. This is a waste of taxpayers’ money. If the municipality can’t do its own cleaning up, they should at least supervise the contractors they appoint.

I hope this matter will be attended to.
