Call on dog owners to do right thing

On the grass patch at Baggies Beach, there is dog excrement everywhere.

EDITOR – As a long-time resident of the greater Amanzimtoti area of some 50 years, I would like to make an appeal to the general public to pick up their dog excrement when walking their pet on the beach.

I am an animal lover through and through, and think it is so nice to see people taking their dogs for a walk on the beach.

On Monday afternoon we were on the beach with our grandchildren playing soccer when one of them fell over onto a fresh patch of excrement. It was all over their hand and clothes, pretty disgusting to say the least.

On the grass patch at Baggies Beach, there is dog excrement everywhere. I have yet to see a stray dog at the beach. Please dog owners, do the right thing, carry a bag with you and pick it up.

I notice that the man riding with the horses now rides with a back pack and picks up the horse dung. Well done guys, a good example set now after many years of not doing this, thank you.
