A thief was caught red-handed with his booty by security officers in Kingsburgh West on Monday, 17 August.
According to Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) operations manager, Leon Joone, a Blue Security reaction officer responded to an alarm activation in Bonaventura Avenue, Illovo Glen.
“The officer saw the front door of the house had been kicked in and observed a man walking towards Kingsburgh West with a TV on his head.
The officer called for assistance, while he drove around to intercept the man.
He observed the man going into a house and with assistance from the CCPO and ET Security, found the man hiding in one of the rooms under a blanket.”
The complainant positively identified the TV as his property and the man was arrested by Toti SAPS. It is suspected the thief has been involved in other housebreakings and SAPS are investigating further.
