Edutoy training to prevent HIV/Aids risks
If early childhood development centres require training on HIV and Aids edutoys, contact Sandra or Janette at the welfare’s office.
Kingsburgh Child Welfare hosted an AECI-funded training programme on HIV and Aids edutoys on Thursday, 14 April at the welfare’s office in Hall Road.
Operation Bobbi Bear’s Jackie Branfield conducted the edu-toys presentation which helps educators create awareness and education regarding the HIV virus using toys.
“Our goal was to recognise the importance of educating children at pre-school level from an early age to prevent the risk of infection,” said senior social worker, Sandra Govender. “We therefore empowered a group of educators with skills on how to use the toys to facilitate learning about the virus.”
Should early childhood development centres require training on HIV and Aids edutoys, contact Sandra or Janette at the welfare’s office on 031-916-2274 or 031-916-3007 between 8am and noon or leave a message on the answering machine.
