NEWS JUST IN: Kingsway closed at old CBD

The section of Kingsway opposite the old CBD and taxi rank has  been flooded, with water streaming into businesses on the opposite side of the road.

Motorists must avoid this section of town and use alternative routes.

It appears that the stream behind the taxi rank vendors has burst its banks, as water is coursing over the sidewalk into the road.

At least two parked vehicles, one of them a Mercedes Benz, is flooded in the parking lot opposite the fuel station.

As it stands, Toti River is bursting its banks into Civic Road, which has flooded the old CBD from the other southern side.
