KAMALINEE Primary School in Isipingo received a bronze award at the KZN Premier’s Service Excellence Awards for KZN at the ICC on Thursday, 7 July.
The awards encompassed the departments of agriculture, finance, transport, health services, defence, tourism and war rooms, among others.
“Our school was the only school represented at this provincial awards ceremony. The award was received by members of the staff and members of the school governing body in recognition of our service delivery standards. It was presented by the Honourable Premier of KZN, Thembinkosi Willies Mchunu,” said Kamalinee Primary School principal, Jagatheesan Naidoo, who was unfortunately overseas at the time of the ceremony.
“I thank the members of our administration, staff and members of the school governing body for their sterling efforts to provide a holistic education and adhere to the Batho Pele principles in service standards.
In 2013 our school was honoured to win the bronze award for service excellence in education. In 2014 we went on to win the silver award. In 2015/16 our school was once again recognised and we will receive the gold award in terms of service excellence in KZN.”
A special function will be held in either August or September by the department of education for the school to receive this prestigious honour bestowed on it by the department.
“We promise to maintain and sustain our high achievements in the academic, extra-curricular and co-curricular spheres,” said Jagatheesan. “May Kamalinee continue to grow from strength to strength.”
