Amanzimtoti owner posts reward after cat shot

Karon has since offered a reward for any information that could lead to uncover whomever is responsible.

A St Winifreds cat owner has been left traumatised after someone shot her cat with a pellet gun.

Karon Hutchison said her cat Ninja was shot in the neck on Saturday evening, 9 December and the pellet lodged in his right front leg. “I took him to the vet on Monday and I might have to put him down,” she said tearfully. “I’m absolutely destroyed by this.”

Karon has since offered a reward for any information that could lead to uncover whomever is responsible. She also wants to find out if any other cats have been shot recently in the vicinity of Gessner Grove or Colonel Poulton Drive in Whitfield Park. Call her on 083-624-2888.

Toti SPCA said if the perpetrator is found, they will be charged with discharging a firearm in a residential area, as well as cruelty to animals.

The pellet has lodged in Ninja’s right front leg.
