KZN education department pays NSC matric markers

All markers appointed for the 2017 National Senior Certificate examinations have been paid.

The Department of Education in KwaZulu-Natal has confirmed all markers appointed for the 2017 National Senior Certificate examinations have been paid.

Markers who have not been paid are those whose details don’t correspond and are still being verified.

The department was supposed to pay 8,911 markers, but paid 8,740 markers. The system rejected 171 and the department has already resolved 132 cases. The 32 cases which are currently unresolved are mainly as a result of incorrect Persal numbers and incorrect banking details. The department is processing those unresolved cases.

“We thank all the markers for their good work and their professional conduct during the marking process,” said the HoD, Dr EV Nzama.
