Attempted rape thwarted at Dakota Beach

Various law enforcement responded and they chased the suspect onto Amanzimtoti Golf Course.

A rape suspect is behind bars thanks to the diligent work of a local response officer and his trusty canine on Monday, 30 April.

ET Rapid Response South Coast managing member, Tony Lokker said SAPS was called to Dakota Beach, where a man had assaulted a woman and attempted to rape her. “Various law enforcement responded and they chased the suspect onto Amanzimtoti Golf Course, where he was cornered in the bush,” said Lokker.

As the SAPS dog unit was unavailable at the time, he and his K9 partner ‘Titan’ were called and it wasn’t long before the suspect was found hiding and apprehended. He was positively identified by the complainant and handed over to the police.
