Winkle Bowling Club prepares bowlers for finals

WINKLE Bowling Club’s (WBC) men and women’s club singles competitions has come to an end.
Congratulations to all the winners and the runners-up, and well done to all who entered. The men and women’s club pairs competitions are also going well, so let’s keep the games going to ensure the club gets to the finals as soon as possible.
Take note the list for the men and women’s nominated trips, nominated mixed pairs and nominated mixed 2-4-2 is up on the board.

Results for the Eagle Canyon Spur mixed trips played on Saturday, 18 May. Overall winners were André Gelderblom, Johan van der Westhuizen and Norma Raath while the second session winners were Annalie Pienaar, Gert Richter and Nikki Botha. The 100 board was won by Rob Troughton.
Social bowls on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1.30pm for 2pm is always well supported by bowlers who enjoy this social time together. Non-bowlers are also most welcome to join.
The club thanks Trish Farmer for the delicious meal she prepared on Friday evening, 17 May and Sheila Court, Irene Jordan and Norma Raath for the pudding. The attendance draw was won by Rita Zietsman, as she was not present there is a carry over.
There will be a meal on Friday evening, 24 May, should you wish to attend, put your name on the board or contact Trish Farmer.
The club’s inter league games for men and women takes place on Saturday, 25 May. The Winkle women’s team will play at home against Mt Edgecombe at 12.30pm while the men’s fifth division play at Stella Park against Stella C and the sixth division play at Parkhill against Parkhill D.
The club wishes all those with birthdays in May a blessed year ahead.
