WBC women edge out opposition in club finals

The next women’s league game will take place on Saturday, 22 June at Durban Collegians against Amanzimtoti C.

Social bowls was well supported on Wednesday and Friday afternoon at Winkle Bowling Club.

Compliments to Sylveigh and Basil Ananiadis for the delicious meal on Friday evening, 31 May, and Beth Duncan for the lovely pudding. The attendance draw was won by Joyce Mackrory, but seeing as she was not present there is a carry over. Congratulations to Shirley de Wee and Margaret van Belkum who defeated Lou Bingham and Sylveigh Ananiadis in the 2-4-2 club competition finals.

In the men’s nominated 2-4-2 club competition, Jeff van Belkum and Barry Hilton defeated Alan Raubenheimer and Jimmy Ronald. The Clear Water Spur men’s 2-4-2 played on Thursday, 30 May, overall winners were Dave Kemp and Eric Morsner and second session went to Alan Raubenheimer and Bruce Campbell. The 100 board was won by Alan Baxter.

Members to note the monthly trips on Saturday, 8 June has been changed to a tabs in, starting time 8.30am for 9am. Ensure you are at the club early to get your tab in the box. The women’s twinkle trips takes place on Wednesday, 12 June and the men’s trips on Thursday, 13 June at 8.30am for 9am. Well done to the women’s inter club league team who won both games against Umhlanga A played at Umhlali. The next women’s league game will take place on Saturday, 22 June at Durban Collegians against Amanzimtoti C.

In the men’s inter club league games, division five played Le Domaine A and division six played Durban Collegians B. Both teams won one and lost one. On Saturday, 22 June the fifth division will play away against Stella D and the sixth division will play at home against Lahee Park C. Social bowls is on Wednesday’s and Friday’s at 1.30pm for 2pm. The club wishes all those with birthdays in June a blessed year ahead.
