Winkle bowlers reign in inter club league matches
The Winkle monthly trips takes place on Saturday, 29 June, at 8.30am for 9am.
Winkle Bowling Club congratulates the women’s inter club league team for coming first in the fourth division after winning all games played.
The men’s fifth division won one and lost one against Stella Park. The sixth division won both their games against Lahee Park.
Club competition results: In the finals of the men’s pairs, the winners were Ivan van den Bergh and Barrie de Wee who defeated John Scott and Tony Fitzsimmons. In the men’s drawn 2-4-2 finals, winners were Brian Farmer and Freddy Hetterscheidt who beat Rob Troughton and Gert Richter.
The winners of the women’s pairs finals went to Lou Bingham and Elmarie Young who defeated Maureen Warrior and Sheila Court. In the women’s 2-4-2 semi finals, Margaret van Belkum and Linda Hobbs defeated Annalie Pienaar and Sandy Snyman.
The Winkle monthly trips takes place on Saturday, 29 June, at 8.30am for 9am. The list is up on the board, members are to ensure your teams are available. There will be a braai after the game, contact Lou Bingham.
The Kwik Spar women’s Winkle trips is on Thursday, 4 July, contact Lou Bingham. The Caltex Twinkle trips is on Wednesday, 10 July, contact Lou Bingham. The monthly drawn trips will be played on Saturday, 13 July, contact Barrie de Wee. All morning games start at 8.30am for 9am. The attendance draw on Friday evening, 21 June, was won by Mac Mackrory, but as he was not present, there is a carry over.
Social bowls is on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1.30pm for 2pm. There will be a meal on Friday, 28 June, should you wish to attend, put you name on the board or contact Trish Farmer.
The club wishes all those with birthdays in the month of June a blessed year ahead.
