Sards are coming this way
SARDINES were netted at Hibberdene and Sea Park down the coast over the weekend.
Sardine fever gripped the Lower South Coast as people scrambled in the water to get a share of the free fish. Although the sardines moved out to sea on Monday due to a big swell, they are still moving northwards and should be seen along the Upper South Coast soon.
New vehicle testing grounds for Toti
THE new Amanzimtoti Vehicle Testing Centre is where the old Winklespruit testing grounds used to be.
In fact, the premises are the same, but a new name brings new facilities and the offices and yard have been completely revamped. The newly painted and refurbished premises now offer services far in excess of any previous testing ground. A seven day a week service is now on offer, which no other testing facility provides. A soft-drink vending machine, outside refreshment area with tables and umbrellas and landscaped gardens have also been provided.

Aneska takes over Toti Rotary reins
TOTI Rotarians have appointed their first woman president in a traditionally male dominated field.
This honour was bestowed on Aneska Dupont, a member of three years standing, at a ceremony on Tuesday, 28 June. As president, Aneska plans to retain existing members and to attract new Rotarians to the fold. Kmala Rama is the only other woman Rotarian at Toti, but some clubs still don’t allow women to join.
