Tokkie’s team aces Dan Draper title for Winkle Bowling Club

Congratulations to the women’s team of Tokkie de Kock, Lou Bingham, Elmarie Young and Sandy Snyman from Winkle and Toti Bowling Clubs who played in the Dan Draper tournament over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, 13 and 14 July, winning the women’s division of the tournament.
In the Mahindra competition played at Umkomaas Bowling Club on Saturday, 13 July, Winkle club bowlers Mike Kruger, André Gelderblom, Di Kruger and Ivan van den Bergh did well getting second place in the competition. Overall winners of the women’s Caltex twinkle trips played on Wednesday, 10 July, were Pam Royale, Sue Welch and Linda Mc Gregor. The second session went to Estelle van der Merwe, Elaine Critchlow and Bessie Vergottini. The first session was won by Julie Sutherland, Margaret van Belkum and Norma Raath. The 100 board was won by Sandy Snyman and the spider by Elmarie Young.
In the men’s Kwik Spar trips played on Thursday, 11 July, overall winners were Shawn Sutherland, Steve Evenwell and Sandy Snyman. Second session went to Eddie Bingham, Adrian Morrison and Mac Macrory. The 100 board was won by Coy Schrauven. In the Winkle monthly mixed drawn trips played on Saturday, 13 July, overall winners were George Cormack, Kokkie de Kock and Alan Baxter. Second session winners were Andrew Darling, Dries Snyman and John Powell. The 100 board was won by Paul Hedley. Winkle Bowling Club members to note the first round of the mixed nominated pairs 2-4-2 needs to be completed by the end of July. The greens will be open on Saturday, 20 July, for these games. Members need to organise their games to avoid being carded.
Correction on the winner of the liquor hamper, this was won by Henry Porter and not Paul Hedley. The winner of the Durban July sweep, was André Gelderblom, second Linda Hobbs and third Ivan van den Bergh. The next Winkle men’s 2-4-2 will be played on Thursday, 25 July, ensure your teams are available and on the list for the game.
The monthly mixed trips with a braai after the game will be played on Saturday, 27 July. There will be a meal on Friday evening, 19 July, put your name on the the board if you wish to attend.
