Alfie (60) is bravely fighting multiple myeloma cancer after he was diagnosed in May this year. The only effective chemotherapy treatment to treat this type is Bortezomid, and is sadly not used by government hospitals. Alfie does not have medical aid.

Funds generated at the golf day will feed towards his medical bills.

Taking place on Sunday, 25 August at the Umdoni Park course in Pennington, registration is between 10am and 11am and the cost is R250 per person. The tournament will kick off at 11.20am and the format is four ball alliance, two scores to count, shotgun start. Entry includes green fees but excludes the halfway house, carts and caddies.

Further fundraising opportunities offer those keen to advertise their business while also paying Alfie support, through the sponsoring of a hole for R1000. Company banners and marketing material will be displayed.
