Fry’s pigeons lead the way in Marble Hall race
Doug Fry clocked the winning bird
Amanzimtoti Racing Pigeon Club (ARPC) competed in the Durban federations race from Marble Hall on Saturday, 20 July.
The birds were liberated in clear weather at 7.17am and quickly found their bearings and set off for home, 560 kilometres away. Conditions en route were difficult, with a head wind gusting upward of 65 kilometer per hour and very cold.
Doug Fry clocked the winning bird at 3.46pm with a velocity of 1106.3 metres per minute (66 km/ hour).
