Athlone Park church beautifies the environment

Members of the House of Nations church embarked on a special environmental project and several species of plants were given a new home on Thursday, 3 September.
“We have been authorised to ‘adopt the street’ – West Road in Athlone Park and would like to encourage other churches and non-profit organisations to also embark on such projects. As part of our desire to advance the Kingdom of God by extending our arm into communities through outreach and community programmes and projects, we also envisage to become environmentally conscious and become active in the community,” said PRO of the organisation, Nicole Ramlal.
The plants were carefully selected for the project and are beneficial to the environment. These included the spekboom.
“Through this community environmental upliftment initiative, we endeavour to mitigate climate change in our community,” added Nicole.
