Turning point for Amanzimtoti organisation

The logo was crafted and created with a lot of thought and has a lot of meaning put into it. It features a tree with leaves representing the staff, founders and volunteers of ATU.

Amanzimtoti Trauma Unit (Turning Point) has proudly launched its new and fresh logo and addition to its name. This was done with the hope of reaching a younger target audience to become volunteers.

“A lot of people are still confused about what our organisation does and who we are. Some think that we are an old age home, a medical facility or government offices. One of our projects is to create motivational and informative social media platforms, where we will regularly post empowerment information regarding gender-based violence and support to victims. To also reach the younger generation and more people in rural areas, we thought that it might work if we give Turning Point a little makeover,” said centre manager, Loraine Odendaal.

The logo was crafted and created with a lot of thought and has a lot of meaning put into it. It features a tree with leaves representing the staff, founders and volunteers of ATU.

“The whole concept of the additional name Qhakaza is that we want to send the message out that we are a place for people to come to as a first step of assistance when they feel like a wilted plant or tree in Winter. We will take their hand and support them during a journey of upliftment and restoration, where they can reach a turning point in their life to a point where they reach a time of bloom and shine. As a whole the main idea is for us as an organisation to be the helping hands of life-changing journeys to everyone who seeks our help. There is nothing like a healthy tree in full bloom. There is nothing more awe-inspiring than the sight of a tree in full bloom after a long winter.”

The aim of the organisation is to provide care and support to victims of trauma and abuse, and facilitate restoration by empowering individuals, families and communities.
