Domino Foundation helps businesses tie up loose ends
The organisation has eight programmes aimed at impacting the lives of over 13 500 individuals in local communities to live with dignity, justice, hope and purpose.

With the financial year-end looming, many businesses find themselves grappling for their B-BBEE points.
Therefore, donor relations manager at The Domino Foundation, Tarin Stevenson, highlighted how businesses can ‘put heart’ into achieving their B-BBEE scorecard for the current financial year.
“It can be a pure number-crunching exercise, but we want to inspire our corporate business partners with a vision of how, while they satisfy statutory requirements, they can invest in hope through the communities we serve together.”
The organisation has eight programmes aimed at impacting the lives of over 13 500 individuals in local communities to live with dignity, justice, hope and purpose. Through these programmes, The Domino Foundation creates essential structures geared towards supporting people and projects.
“We proactively serve our business donors to secure their B-BBEE spend, and more significantly try to align their corporate social investment (CSI) strategy with some or all of our existing community programmes.”
In addition, the foundation is streamlining its programmes towards achieving some of the global sustainable development goals as well as the National Development Plan.
“We want to inspire the corporate community to see that their B-BBEE spend really can make a difference in the lives of our beneficiaries. From the vulnerable babies in our transition home, through to the toddlers in over 60 partnering ECD centres, the school learners on the life skills and literacy programmes through to tertiary learners on the skills development programme, they all are impacted. Then there are the thousands of learners who benefit from a healthy daily meal through the nutrition programme, the survivors of human trafficking and those whose lives have been devastated by disasters of various kinds.”
Donor relations partner, Karen Brokensha, hopes to connect with interested businesses over Zoom, a telephone call or email.
“Better still, we would love a socially-distanced coffee at the open-air coffee shop at our offices.”
The donor team is available to help businesses navigate the Covid-19 pandemic, discuss pending financial year-end and assess how the organisation can be of service for the benefit of all concerned. For more information, email karen@domino.org.za or tarin@domino.org.za or call 031-563-9605.
