SoH mourns the loss of caregiver

"She will be sorely missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Jabu's family and friends," said CEO of SoH, Londiwe Myeza.

Seed of Hope (SoH) and the community at large mourns the loss of Jabulisile Dludla, who passed away on Sunday, 30 May, after a short illness.  She joined SoH in 2011 and throughout her time, she showed exceptional leadership and commitment to the communities of Bhekulwandle and surrounding areas.  Jabulisile (affectionately known as ma’am Jabu) joined the organisation as a caregiver during its early days. She served families who needed assistance with end-of-life care and facilitating support groups for families affected by the HIV/ Aids epidemic.

“Over the years Jabu served in various roles, she was part of the after-school programme, Simunye, she also led Mom and Babes support groups and she would offer counselling to students from our skills programmes when the need arose,” said CEO of SoH, Londiwe Myeza.

In the last few years, she spearheaded the outreach programme, Healthy Homes and Families (HHF.).

“Jabu was instrumental in reaching families in and around Bhekulwandle with many of the parents from HHF joining Seed of Hope skills programmes after completing the eight-week HHF course.”

She was an avid storyteller and in 2020 started writing short stories.

“During the Simunye Book Week, she ignited the children’s imaginations with adventurous fairy tales. She was an invaluable member of the Seed of Hope family and the Bhekulwandle community.  Her infectious laughter filled our passages, her passion for Christ always encouraged others and her compassionate heart and gift of evangelism led her to tell many about the love of Christ. She will be sorely missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Jabu’s family and friends.”
