[LETTER] Our town is deteriorating
We try to attract holiday makers, yet accept such behaviour.

EDITOR – In response to the letter in the SUN dated 15 October “How low we have sunk in our democracy?”, I find it hard to accept that there is not a strong police presence in Beach Road.
I have lived in the area for over 40 years and noted the steady deterioration. The more we accept what’s happening, the more it will deteriorate.
Besides the criminal element, drivers double park and cause traffic problems. Rogies Park is alive with drug dealers and homeless people. That may be considered a social problem, but what steps are being taken to address this?

It is true that many municipal workers are haphazard about cleaning up the area, but there shouldn’t be litter there in the first place.
