UPDATE: Rescue mission launched in Prospecton and Isipingo

The assistance of those with rubber ducks and who know how to handle them in bad conditions are still required.

PEOPLE who have been stranded in the Prospecton and Isipingo Beach area, including the many workers at Sapref, are still being rescued.

“We still require assistance from people with rubber ducks and who knows how to handle it in bad conditions. We require assistance from people with lifesaving experience,” said ward 97 councillor, André Beetge.

“We urgently need people with boats to assist SAPS in rescue operations. Please if you can assist contact the CPF Cluster chairperson, Aidan David 067 022 2505,” said Jacqueline Pieterse.

Beetge and those he is working with are reachable on 082 718 8137 or 083 637 0736, but request that calls be kept short and to the point so as not to congest the lines.

The community, along with emergency and rescue teams, are available online to help those in need. Footage shows a rescue mission taking place in Isipingo Beach.
