Morning accident on N2 disrupts traffic

There were major delays to rush hour traffic in the vicinity of Galleria Mall this morning due to a single vehicle accident.

A SINGLE vehicle accident took place on the northbound N2 carriageway near Galleria Mall today (January 20) just after 06:00.

When first responders arrived, they found a compact Hyundai hatchback lying on its side beyond the yellow line. What had caused the accident was not immediately clear. No fatalities were reported.

Some delays to rush hour traffic occurred as paramedics attended to the injured.

The accident came as eThekwini Metro police recently undertook a road safety campaign. Metro police spokesperson Colonel Boysie Zungu said the campaign aimed to raise awareness about road safety and promote responsible driving among motorists. He asked motorists to be alert at all times and to be courteous on the road.
