According to ward 97 coucillor, André Beetge, at Winklespruit and Isipingo beaches, visibility remains poor and post-rain testing has revealed elevated E.coli counts, resulting in both beaches remaining closed for bathing purposes.

While visibility at Umgababa Beach has not yet improved, E.coli levels are currently low and the beach may be reopened once water visibility reaches safe levels.

Reunion, Pipeline and Amanzimtoti Main beaches are currently open for bathing.

Authorities will continue to monitor both water quality and visibility and will issue further updates as conditions change.
