The Shavathon is an annual fundraising and awareness campaign meant to show solidarity with cancer survivors who lose their hair during treatment.

Xandre Ferreira, of DVH, said that participants showed their support by shaving or spray-painting their hair, standing in solidarity with cancer survivors and those currently undergoing treatment. The initiative was a meaningful reminder that small acts of kindness and support can make a difference in the lives of others.

“Through this collaboration, DVH Attorneys and RE/MAX Toti aimed to spread awareness, encourage hope and remind those affected by cancer that they are not alone in their journey. Together, we stand for hope, courage and strength in the fight against cancer,” said Ferreira.

This milestone reflects not only the organisation’s longevity, but also its resilience, relevance, and lasting impact. CANSA extends its sincere gratitude to Dykes van Heerden Attorneys and RE/MAX Toti for their continued commitment and partnership in making the event such a success. Special thanks are also extended to every volunteer, donor, participant, and supporter whose generosity, enthusiasm, and courage made the morning truly memorable,” said Brown.
