Hijacked car found in Folweni
Tracking devices in vehicles make it easier to recover stolen vehicles.

Two vehicle owners were reunited with their cars this week after they were both hijacked at gunpoint on different occasions.

On Thursday, December 1, a Nissan bakkie that was hijacked in the Durban CBD was recovered in Folweni a few hours later after Metro Police and PT Alarms Fire and Security tailed the perpetrators.
In a statement, PT Alarms said that after the car was taken, the owner contacted Tracker Connect, and the device was activated.
“Tracking teams went in search of the vehicle, and it was tracked and recovered in the Folweni/Adam’s Mission rural area. The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled when they spotted the tracking teams approaching,” it said.
A search was conducted, but no arrests were made.
On Sunday, November 27, a man was hijacked in Wentworth and dropped off in Amanzimtoti by the perpetrators.
PT Alarms said the man was driving a maroon Ford Figo.
“The owner contacted the tracking company, and the device was activated. The vehicle was tracked by the PT Tactical unit and recovered in Silvertree, Wentworth. The vehicle was found abandoned and stripped,” it said.
The car was without wheels and some other components.
