PHOTOS: Fun day at the Tin Hat Holiday Market in Toti
The market helped raise funds for the Memorial Order of the Tin Hats and Hearts of Toti.
THERE was a variety of food, handmade crafts and items for sale at the fun-filled Tin Hat Holiday Market at the Amanzimtoti Bowling Club recently.
The event’s organiser, Chantelle Lotter, said the market is primarily to raise funds for the MOTHS (Memorable Order of Tin Hats). The market also helped raise funds and collect donations for non-profit organisation Hearts of Toti.

“The public, as well as the stallholders, were requested to donate a food item for Hearts of Toti who feed the less fortunate in our community. It was my way of assisting this very worthy cause,” said Chantelle.
There were about 70 stalls, selling things like delicious food and drinks, books and crafts, clothes and jewellery, and homemade items. There was also a jumping castle for the children, music, face-painting and much more.
“We had a wonderful day and were blessed with no rain. It was a little windy though. We would have loved more ‘feet’ coming in, but it was a fun day nonetheless. I have amazing stallholders who are always happy to be a part of a great market day out,” said Chantelle.
The next market is The Mulligan New Years Market on December 30 at the Amanzimtoti Golf Club, from 09:00 to 15:00. “The club was hard hit by the KZN floods and needs plenty of funding to repair the damage,” said Chantelle.
Stallholders and the public are also encouraged to bring and donate dog and cat food for the Amanzimtoti SPCA.
