Khanya Hospice grateful for donation

The hospice deals with many patients who are poverty-stricken and cannot afford the luxury of adult diapers.

KHANYA Hospice is grateful for a member of the community’s donation of adult diapers, to help support the organisation and those in need.

The hospice’s CEO, Neil McDonald, said there are still wonderful people around – people who care about others.

Supporter of the hospice Jennifer Harihar decided to assist the organisation as a means of giving back for all the work they are doing in their community and surrounds.

“By reading in the newspapers and talking to people, she is aware of the good work that the nursing staff are doing with very limited funds. She felt that during the ‘time of giving’, she would also like to give back to the community and no better place to support than the hospice,” said Neil.

The hospice’s sister, Sue Rijsbergen, said they have many patients who are poverty-stricken and can hardly afford medication, never mind the luxury of adult diapers.

“The nursing staff are over the moon at the wonderful donation. Thank you, Jennifer, for this kind gesture. It is greatly appreciated,” said Neil.
