Amanzimtoti CPF’s public relations officer, Estelle van Eeden said Sergeant Nondumiso Mncwabe presented on SAPS’s victim-friendly services, empowering children to identify and report gender-based violence.
“Constable Nkululeko Gwala spoke on issues the learners may face, tips to avoid crime, and the consequences for children in conflict with the law,” she said.
The partnering stakeholders also unpacked current safety issues. “The KZN Liquor Authority spoke on alcoholism, the CPF presented on human trafficking and exploitation, and Sparrow Trust engaged the learners on cyber safety,” said Van Eeden.
They thanked the team of volunteers from the Department of Community Safety and Liaison for their presence and participation.
“Every child in our policing district should know that they have their own superpowers to stay safe, eyes to watch for warning signs, ears to listen for tricks, a mouth to speak out and ask for help, and a bright mind to dial 10111 or 0800 222 777 in case of anything suspicious,” added Van Eeden.
