Undefeated netball teams take on Kuswag grand slam

Kuswag Skool's netball first team continues its undefeated streak while Kingsway's U14 side bolsters its own exceptional run of form.

TWO Amanzimtoti netball teams stood out in excellence during Kuswag Skool’s netball grand slam on May 28, the hosts’ indomitable first team and Kingsway High School’s (KHS) exceptional U14 team.

Kuswag Skool’s first team keeps up its world-beater form with an undefeated streak in Kuswag sports week, the Amanzimtoti league and now in the netball grand slam as well.

On the opposite end of the participating age groups, KHS achieved victory against Kuswag Skool’s U14 team, also maintaining a clean sheet throughout the season. KHS’ U15 team also brought home gold.

Kingsway High School netball coach Ruan Engelbrecht said the group of Grade Eight learners are playing together for the first time, yet are demonstrating they are in a class of their own.

“Our netball teams delivered an outstanding performance at finals. The U14 team’s achievement was particularly special, finishing the season as undefeated champions. Their growth, commitment and consistency have been exceptional. The U15 team continued their impressive form by claiming gold, while our U16 team battled hard to secure silver against strong opposition. We are incredibly proud of what all three teams have achieved and the way they represented Kingsway,” said Engelbrecht.

Results:

U14: KHS 9 – 5 Kuswag

U15: KHS 9 – 8 Suid Natal

U16: Suid Natal 10 – 6 KHS

First teams: Kuswag 15 – 10 Gelofte Skool
