ARE you looking for something to do this weekend? Well, look no further – here’s a list of fun events happening this weekend in Durbs and surrounds.

EVERY SATURDAY AND LAST FRIDAY

VISIT the fun-filled New Time Market in The Square at the Toti CBD every Saturday, from 09:00 to 15:00 and every last Friday of the month from 17:00 to 21:00.
Entry is free. The aim of the market, organised by Wanderers Haven and Mug ‘n Dine, is to support small businesses, upgrade the town and help build a place of safety for those in need. The day includes entertainment for the children, cake and coffee stands, food stalls, arts and crafts, jewellery and much more.

EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT

YELLOWWOOD Park Sports Club hosts social darts with a twist every Friday evening from 18:30 for 19:00. Social darts is about a two-hour fun game that anyone can play. The rules change every week and players are seeded and/ or handicapped depending on experience. There are various prizes up for grabs and raffle tickets on sale. EVERY FRIDAY

IN RESPONSE to the country’s measles outbreak, parents will be able to vaccinate their children at Hillside Mall on The Bluff, every Friday until March 17. The clinic will offer measles vaccines to children from the age of six months to 15 years old. The community health facilitator, Sindisiwe Nene, and her team will operate from a mobile bus at the mall’s parking area along Tara Road. Services will be offered between 09:00 and 14:00, but on other days, people can go to their local clinics to vaccinate. Parents must carry their child’s Road to Health card.

 

Saturday, 25 March

THE Lions Club of Kingsburgh will host a ‘name that tune’ pop quiz with music and dancing on March 25, from 14:00 to 16:00 at the St. Mary’s Church Hall, Warner Beach. Tickets for the fundraising event are R60 per person and include snacks. Bring your own drinks. Tickets are limited. There will be draw prizes. All proceeds will be spent on community projects. Sunday, 26 March

VISIT the fun-filled Mulligan Easter Market at the Amanzimtoti Golf Club on March 26 from 10:00 to 16:00.
There will be plenty of exciting stalls, live music, jumping castles, children’s play area as well as the bar and restaurant. There will also be an Easter egg hunt for the children at 12:00. The market is in support of the golf club, Hearts of Toti who feed the less fortunate in the community as well as the Amanzimtoti SPCA. Bring along some food items to donate.

Saturday, 18 March 

Get ready for a colourful morning at the TMG Colour Run. All proceeds from this event will go to local non-profit organisation, Church Alliance for Social Transformation (CAST). TMG Colour Run is a 5km and 1km untimed event that will take place at the Westville Country Club’s Eco Trail from 08:00.  Tickets cost R55 each and can be purchased at https://www.quicket.co.za/events/204899-tmg-colour-run/#/ or contact Cheron at cheron@thekwinimotorgroup.co.za for more information.

The Legacy Yard in uMhlanga will be hosting a Ramadan Market from 17:00- 22:00 on Saturday and 10:00 to 15:00 on Sunday.

The members of Durban Bowling Club invite the community to join them on the greens for a free game of bowls on Saturday at 13:00.The invitation is open to all ages. The aim of the game is simple – to get your bowls as close as possible to a small white ball called the Jack. The club provides bowls to be used for the initial play. Only takkies or flat-soled shoes are permitted on the greens. Durban Bowling Club is situated at 65 Gladys Manzi Road. There is ample parking available. THIS year, the Kloof Conservancy has secured some outstanding gardens for its annual Open Gardens show.

The Kloof Conservancy Indigenous Open Gardens show is set to take place on the weekend of March 25 and 26.

The show will run from 09:00 to 16:00 each day, and the entry fee will be R30 per person per garden for three gardens and a single entry fee of R75 to enter the Stoneford Estate and the gardens.
