City shuts offending shops in Isipingo
EThekwini Municipality has been conducting these clean ups to enforce compliance with city by-laws.
TWO shops were forced to close in Isipingo on March 15 after repeatedly disregarding notices issued by eThekwini Municipality that they were contravening by-laws. In a statement, eThekwini said both shops sold food. Some of the items that were on sale were expired, putting the lives of shoppers at risk.

eThekwini has been conducting check-ins with businesses as part of the Mother of All Clean-Ups campaign to enforce compliance with city by-laws. The statement urged the public to report businesses that sell expired food or that contravene other by-laws.
“To report businesses operating illegally, call 031 311 4538,” it said.
