Support Crow at the Oceans 8 Charity Swim

The Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) is one of many charitable organisations that will benefit from the event.

IF you are an ocean swimmer and care about wildlife, this is your chance to have a great day while supporting the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow).

Yellowwood Park’s Crow has once again been chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the Oceans 8 Charity Swim’s one-mile event, set to take place at the DUC, Point Water Sports Club in Durban on June 15 and 16. (June 17 is a contingency day if conditions are poor.)

According to its website, the Oceans 8 Charity Swim is South Africa’s first warm water ocean challenge of its kind – set up entirely for charity. “It was created by a group of non-profit organisations to help provide charities that have a footprint in KwaZulu-Natal with a sustainable source of income,” it read.

One hundred and fifty swimmers will be able to swim eight miles and raise funds for one of the four main charities: Duzi-Umngeni Conservation Trust, National Sea Rescue Institute, Project Rhino and Singakwenza.

The funds raised by the four-mile and one-mile swimmers will be equally split between the 10 invitational charities: Crow, Adopt-a-River, Caversham Education Institute, Game Rangers’ Association of Africa, International Sailors’ Society of Southern Africa, Kerr House, Liberty NPO, One Planet SA, Umduduzi – hospice care for children, and Wildlife ACT.
