Women’s Institute holds AGM in Amanzimtoti

Belinda Thöle was awarded a certificate of best achievement for knitting while Alicia Kelner received a certificate for craft.

THE Amanzimtoti Women’s Institute (WI) held its AGM and prize-giving at the Amanzimtoti Golf Club recently.

The event was overseen by Robyn Schwikkard who is the president of the Alexandra Group. Elections were held for different positions and after all the formalities, celebrations of the achievements of the members in the various competition categories were held.

The next meeting of the Amanzimtoti WI will be held at the Amanzimtoti Golf Club on April 8.  For more information contact Belinda Thöle on 082 466 0550.

Elected officials:
• President – Belinda Thöle
• Secretary – Alicia Kelner
• Treasurer – Petro Earle
• Competition steward – Rene Matthews
• Door steward – Dennii Dorning
• Additional member – Louise Ubleisch.

Prizes:

• Rene Matthews – Adult education, Agriculture, Cookery, Floral, Open, and most entries categories, and the highest points trophy.
• Dennii Dorning – Craft, and runner-up for the highest points.
• Belinda Thöle – Handicraft
• Alicia Kelner – President’s Cup
• Grace Finche – Friendship Tray

During the year, certificates for best achievement at the Federation of Women’s Institutes Congress were awarded to Belinda Thöle for knitting and Alicia Kelner for craft.
