Mystery surrounds body found at Mooi Hawens

A man’s body was discovered at Residentia Mooi Hawens. The man was not affiliated with the facility, and the circumstances remain under investigation.

MYSTERY surrounds the discovery of a body of a man on the premises of Residentia Mooi Hawens on April 9. The man was not a resident or staff member, according to chief executive officer of the Residentia Foundation, Joe Duvenage.

Duvenage said, “It is with sadness that we confirm the discovery of the body of a man on the premises. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear and are currently under investigation. At Residentia, the safety of our residents, staff and care partners is of utmost importance. We understand that this event may cause concern and we are doing everything we can to support the investigation.”

Residentia Foundation have employed an additional guard to increase patrols at night and have launched a full safety assessment to bring peace of mind to everyone at Mooi Hawens.

Duvenage offered his condolences to those affected by the incident.

The Amanzimtoti police have been contacted for a comment on the matter. Updates to follow.
