THE generosity of the community knows no bounds, as another 25 complete knee blankets and more than 300 blocks made their way to the SUN’s office.
According to the managing editor of the Southlands/ South Coast SUN, Roelien D’Amico, the tally stands at 234 complete blankets.

“We are so close to the halfway mark, it’s unbelievable and very exciting,” she said. “Visitors to the office are all very intrigued at the amount of beautiful and bright coloured knee blankets on display. It is impossible to choose a favourite blanket, except for the ones I made myself, of course,” D’Amico joked.
“It is a heartwarming sight to see the amount of creativity that went into the blankets.” D’Amico said a few balls of wool were also donated, which will help to sew the many donated blocks together.
“I can only thank everybody who contributed, and is still contributing to the project. As you all know, this project is close to my heart. I appreciate and admire every blanket that is donated,” said D’Amico. The closing date for blankets, blocks and wool donations is June 2, with distribution to take place throughout July.
