South Coast beaches closed following safety net removals

These beach closures are in effect until further notice and as a result, all water activities are currently banned.

The sardine run is a migration of sardine shoals, containing millions of sardines, up the eastern seaboard that attracts large marine predators such as sharks, dolphins, and game fish closer to shore.

These closures are in effect until further notice. As a result, swimming is currently banned at the following beaches:

• Isipingo Beach
• Amanzimtoti Main
• Doonside
• Warner Beach
• Winklespruit
• Karridene
• Umgababa
• Umkomaas
