ALS Paramedic Services spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, said calls about the incident started coming in just before 17:00.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and discovered total carnage as they found that the vehicle had rolled numerous times. They also found that two of the males in the vehicle had sustained gunshot wounds as well. It is believed four occupants were in the vehicle,” said Jamieson.

The dead man is believed to have been a passenger. The driver was treated at the scene by advanced life support paramedics before he was transferred to the hospital for further medical care.

The N2 peak hour traffic has been severely affected as a result because it is an active crime scene. Motorists have been asked to avoid rubbernecking to avoid further congestion.
