Looting in Amanzimtoti after truck overturns

After information about the accident and the looting that ensued was relayed to security companies, CCPO and ET Rapid Response swiftly responded and secured the scene and the cargo until the police reached the scene.

A SMALL delivery truck was involved in an accident and was looted by some motorists and their passengers after it lost its load on the N2 northbound just before the Amanzimtoti River bridge this morning (September 15).

The truck was carrying cold drinks and other items.

After information about the accident and the looting that ensued was relayed to security companies, CCPO and ET Rapid Response swiftly responded and secured the scene and the cargo until the police arrived.

Work to clear the roadway is ongoing, and motorists are advised to exercise caution while passing the area.
